Host Property for 2008 Holiday Event Announced

SITE-SoCal President Gaetan Mousseau and Holiday Event Director Gabriel Haigazian recently announced The 10th Annual SITE-SoCal Holiday Event date and location as December 15-16 at Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas & Spa in Indain Wells.

 

The event opens with a golf tournament and optional activities on Monday, December 15 with the silent auction, luncheon and live auction on Tuesday, December 16.

 

For the first time ever, our host property is offering two comp nights to qualified planners who attend. Be sure to watch the SITE-SoCal website in the coming months as this milestone event rises from the beautiful California desert.

Charities Sought for SITE-SoCal Holiday Event Giving

The SITE-SoCal Outreach Committee is seeking new charities to support for our 2008 Holiday Event fundraising. Proposals from charities are now being accepted. If you know of a charity you would like to suggest for consideration, please visit the following page: Community Outreach.

 

May 13 Meeting with MPISCC
The meetings and hospitality industry touches on so many facets of the economy that we need to be acutely aware of political policies, both domestic and foreign, and the way they impact meetings, travel, and the hospitality industry as a whole. This meeting's speaker, author and political consultant Dinesh D’Souza, will address these topics. This will by no means be a donkey vs. elephant conversation; the outcome of the upcoming election will affect us as a whole, whether Democrat, Republican, or any other party member. SITE-SoCal Presents New Mission Statement

Led by VP Marketing and Public Relations, Constance Hoffman, the board of directors has developed the following mission statement specific to our chapter.

 

The Southern California chapter of the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE) is dedicated to developing the highest level of professionalism through networking, education, communication and support to those employed in the incentive travel, meetings and motivation industry Site-SoCal also promotes adherence to best practices and a specific code of ethics set forth by SITE International.

 

Board of Directors to Meet

The next SITE-SoCal Board of Directors meeting is May 7th, 12 - 6 pm in the board room of Marketing Innovators in Seal Beach. The SITE-SoCal board of directors would like to remind our members that our board meetings are open to all SITE members to attend as observers. If a member wants to present to the board, he or she may submit a written request to board president Gaetan Mousseau at least seven days prior to the next meeting.

The SITE Mission

The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives is a worldwide organization of business professionals dedicated to the recognition and development of motivational and performance improvement strategies of which travel is a key component. It recognizes the global cultural differences and practices in developing these strategies, and serves as a networking and educational opportunity for its members.

The Southern California chapter of SITE meets six times a year at venues throughout the region, providing educational events and networking opportunities for members and guests. Our annual holiday luncheon and charity auction brings in more than 500 incentive industry leaders from throughout the country.
